Description

Privileges:

• The Recreational Boat Skipper (P.E.R.) title authorizes the command of recreational vessels up to 15 meters in length and for coastal navigation at a maximum distance of 12 miles from the coast. This nautical qualification allows for day and night navigation. Furthermore, by holding the Recreational Boat Skipper title, you will be able to operate any type of personal watercraft.

Requirements to obtain the P.E.R.:
To obtain the PER in Malaga, no prior qualification is necessary. You must be over 18 years old and pass a medical examination. Additionally, the following requirements must be met:

• Pass the corresponding theoretical exam.
• Complete 16 hours of basic safety and navigation practical training.
• Complete a 12-hour Short Range Radio Operator practical course.

In-person Course includes:

• In-person training approx. 36h.
• Safety and Navigation Practical Training 16h.
• Radio practicals – Short Range Operator 12h.

Optional:

• Sailing Endorsement. 16-hour practical training that enables sailing with sailing vessels; it is performed only once and is valid for subsequent courses (PY and CY).
• 24-meter extension and crossing. If you wish to endorse this title for the command of vessels up to 24 meters and to be able to make crossings between the mainland and the Balearic Islands, you must complete, in addition to the mandatory basic practicals, 24 hours of navigation practicals.

Students who take the PER exam and do not pass, but have passed the subjects common to the PNB, will be granted the PNB qualification.
