The Recreational Boat Skipper – PER certificate qualifies you to operate recreational vessels up to 15 meters in length and for coastal navigation up to a maximum distance of 12 miles from the coast. The Recreational Boat Skipper nautical qualification allows for both day and night navigation. Furthermore, holding the PER certificate also allows you to operate any type of personal watercraft.

What does the P.E.R. online course include?
Access to the Oceanautic Virtual Classroom for three months, which includes all subjects, animations, timed virtual exams, explanatory videos, voice-overs, graphics, self-monitoring of progress, learning percentage, simple and intuitive navigation, as well as online tutoring with the student.
In the PER course, you will receive the necessary materials at your home to complete the navigation chart exercises (nautical charts, nautical protractor…)
After the three-month course period, you can extend it monthly if you wish.
Mandatory Practical Training
To obtain your qualification, in addition to passing the corresponding exam, you must complete mandatory practical training at an approved nautical school.
Our location for PER practical training is in Benalmádena, although Oceanautic offers numerous options and dates for you to complete your practicals.
Both mandatory and complementary practicals can be completed, as it suits you, on the dates that work best for you.

The exam to obtain the Recreational Boat Skipper certificate will have a maximum duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It will consist of 45 multiple-choice questions with topics that have a maximum number of eliminatory errors.
Students who take the Recreational Boat Skipper exam and do not pass but have passed the common subjects with the PNB (Basic Navigation Skipper), will have the PNB approved.
Do you want to sail? By obtaining the PER – Recreational Boat Skipper Certificate, you will only need to complete 16 hours of sailing practical training to get the endorsement. This only needs to be done once and will be valid for subsequent courses.
