Basic Maritime Safety Training

The Basic Maritime Safety Training Certificate of Specialisation is the minimum required and will be mandatory for all personnel who are part of the ship’s crew and perform professional maritime duties, as well as for those entrusted with safety or pollution-prevention tasks related to ship operations, under the Ship’s Muster List, the Onboard Emergency Plan in the event of Hydrocarbon Pollution, or the Safety Management Manual.

The main objective is to prepare the student for emergency situations on board and to respond by immediately applying procedures and actions that minimise potential hazards in firefighting, rescue, survival, and accident prevention on board.
